Turkey Tail
Trametes versicolor, commonly known as Turkey Tail mushroom, is a highly medicinal fungus recognized for its immune-boosting and anti-cancer properties. Named for its vibrant, fan-shaped, and multicolored appearance resembling a turkey’s tail, this mushroom has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries.
Turkey Tail is rich in polysaccharopeptides (PSP) and polysaccharide-K (PSK), which are known to enhance immune function, support gut health, and potentially slow cancer growth. PSK has been used as an adjunct cancer therapy in Japan to help improve chemotherapy outcomes.
Additionally, Turkey Tail contains prebiotic compounds that nourish beneficial gut bacteria, promoting digestive and overall well-being. It is commonly consumed as a tea, tincture, or supplement in powder or capsule form.
